What is Telecommuting USA? Telecommuting is working from home. When an employer allows an employee to work from home part time or full time, it is called telecommuting. The employer may set up special equipment like a phone line, laptop or computer, or other equipment to help the worker perform his assigned tasks from home.

The number of telecommuters are increasing every year. There were almost 6 times more people telecommuting in 2004 than in 1990.

Not every jobs is suitable for telecommuting. Some of the jobs most suitable for telecommuting include software programming, preparing reports, accounting, graphic desigining, writers, telemarketing etc., any job that can be done when a person is left alone.
